Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Australia is the all-Porsche motor racing series which races on the Shannons Nationals Motor Racing Championships calendar.

Predominantly featuring Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars, the series visits some of Australia’s most exciting circuits in 2011 – including Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, Eastern Creek Raceway and Sandown International Motor Raceway.

In 2011, the six-round series will again be dedicated to cost effective racing for the gentleman racer, featuring a ‘race with your mates’ philosophy and atmosphere.

With a top speed close to 300 km/h, the lightweight, high performance vehicles have a 400 hp, 3.6-litre six-cylinder boxer engine which revs to a maximum 8400 rpm, producing a sound that is distinctly Porsche.

The drivers represent the successful businessman who use motor racing as their weekend’s game of golf. The focus for these drivers: the exciting competition with intense rivalry, yet friendships stronger than brothers, makes this category and its drivers a standout to other racers.

In 2011, Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Australia will be supported by Porsche, Michelin, Performance Friction Brakes and Racer Industries.
