Porsche Carrera Cup Australia to use the City Index brand in revised Title Partnership brandingBrand change delivers international benefits

Australia. Porsche Carrera Cup Australia has been rebranded after a decision by its Title Partner to use its global brand, City Index.

When the Title Partnership was announced on August 2, City Index initially used its Australian online foreign exchange (FX) trading brand, IFX, for all branding; but has elected to replace the use of IFX with its global brand, City Index.

To reflect the change, the championship will now be known as ‘Porsche City Index Carrera Cup Australia’.

City Index is one of the world leaders in contracts for difference (CFD) and FX trading. Established in the UK in 1983, it has grown to become a leading provider of CFD and FX over the past 25 years.

Porsche Cars Australia Motorsport Manager, Jamey Blaikie, suggests the rebranding was the right decision given the international benefits.

“Having the globally recognised City Index brand used in the Title Partnership will give the company the ability to leverage its involvement not only in Australia, but in its many international markets,” said Blaikie.

“This rebranding signifies that City Index recognises the benefits of the Title Partnership and the potential to leverage its involvement in the championship internationally.”

Since the announcement of the Title Partnership, there have been a number of activations for its promotion both in Australia and Singapore – the success of which contributed to the rebranding decision.

The Porsche GT3 Cup car, used as a guest car in the championship, was draped in the IFX corporate colours of yellow and black after the announcement and has since embarked on a multi-city promotional tour throughout August.

The IFX Porsche began its promotional tour at Sydney’s Trading & Investing Seminars & Expo on August 5-6, where it was displayed on the IFX stand before being featured in the showrooms of Porsche Centre Willoughby in Sydney and Porsche Centre Brighton in Melbourne.

The partnership has also been promoted internationally, with a City Index-branded Porsche placed on display at the INVEST Fair Singapore 2011 in Singapore on August 13-14.
