Twice as good for Boxster - Porsche Boxster wins back-to-back “Best Convertible” titles
Australia. The entry-model Porsche Boxster has been judged “Best Convertible” for the second year in a row in the prestigious 2010 Drive Car of the Year awards.
The slick and sweet roadster with its 2.9-litre boxer engine won praise from the 11 expert judges representing The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age and drive.com.au.
The mid-engined roadster’s exceptional dynamics and brilliant engine and gearbox combination out-classed the two other short-listed finalists in the Nissan 370Z Roadster and Mercedes-Benz E250 CGI Cabriolet.
“With its sensational cornering and braking abilities, character-filled flat-six engine, surprising practicality and brilliant dual-clutch gearbox, the carryover champ was the judges’ unanimous pick,” quoted Drive at this morning’s announcement.
As the most affordable sports car in the Porsche range, the $106,100 Boxster represents exceptional value and fantastic performance for the price. “Soft top motoring at its best,” added Drive.
The Porsche Boxster range includes the Drive award winner, the more powerful Boxster S at $132,400 and the exhilarating Boxster Spyder at $145,200.
