Porsche AG has announced the appointment of Mr. Sam Curtis, 55, as the new Managing Director of Porsche Cars Australia (PCA), effective March 01, 2014.
Mr. Curtis joins PCA with a wealth of experience in the Australian luxury car industry, across key fields of sales and operations.
He has held senior executive roles with both BMW and Mercedes-Benz head offices in Australia as well as extensive retail experience with both brands.
“Sam brings to Porsche two decades of experience at both wholesale and retail levels of the luxury car business in Australia,” says Mr. Helmut Broeker, Vice President of Porsche Region Overseas and Emerging Markets.
“His knowledge and proven skills are exactly what Porsche needs as it continues its growth in Australia, which will accelerate in 2014 with the introduction of the new sporty compact SUV, the Macan.”
PCA will have a record year in 2013, with expectations of continued steady growth throughout the remainder of the decade.
“It’s a privileged time to be joining Porsche with its current line-up of great cars and the imminent arrival of the new Macan,” says Mr. Curtis.
“And I am certainly delighted to be given the opportunity and responsibility of overseeing the further strengthening of Porsche in Australia.”
