Ultra-Fast heroes of road and sky to perform at the Williamtown Airshow for charity - Make A Wish to Auction the Ultimate in Porsche Rides
Australia. As part of a proud association with Make A Wish Australia, Porsche Cars Australia will be taking passengers in a Porsche 911 Turbo for the ride of their life against a RAAF Hawk at the 2010 RAAF Williamtown Air Show, near Newcastle, New South Wales.
Make-A-Wish® Australia will be auctioning passenger rides in a Porsche 911 Turbo, raising funds to help grant many more wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions. Two passenger rides will be auctioned prior to the 2010 RAAF Williamtown Air Show via e-Bay. One passenger ride will also be auctioned off on each morning of the event weekend. To bid simply go to e-Bay and enter comparison ride in the search field and bid for the ride of a lifetime (URLs = http://bit.ly/9zXioK and http://bit.ly/9n5FIt). Participants must be 18 years of age or over.
The lucky bidders will ride in the passenger seat of the Porsche 911 Turbo experiencing its phenomenal acceleration as part of a high speed performance comparison with a RAAF Hawk aircraft. The Porsche 911 Turbo is the quickest accelerating road car ever built by Porsche, featuring all wheel drive and 368 kilowatts of power. It accelerates from 0-100km/h in 3.4 seconds and has the ability to reach a top speed of 312km/h.
The RAAF Hawk is no slouch either with 5800 pounds of thrust, with the performance comparison sure to be as close as it will be exciting.
Porsche Cars Australia formalised its association with Make A Wish earlier this year following a successful programme with the launch of its Panamera GT car late last year where Make A Wish children throughout Australia were given passenger rides in Porsche’s first four-door high-performance sedan.
The 2010 RAAF Williamtown Air Show will be held at the RAAF base Williamtown on Saturday September 18th and Sunday September 19th. For more Air Show event and ticket information please visit www.airforce.gov.au/AirShows.
